Its historical roots date back to the 18th century, when Maharaja Jai Singh II masterfully founded it. Jaipur is a jewel renowned for its meticulous urban planning and stunning architecture. Its distinctive pink hue lends it an unparalleled charm, making it India’s first planned city. En route, we offer a special option: a stop at the historic Samode Palace for an exceptional lunch. At sunset, oil lamps are lit, and sacred hymns resonate, creating an atmosphere of spirituality and peace. Tomorrow we will continue exploring the wonders of Jaipur, a city that will captivate us with its beauty and its people.

Day 04

JAIPUR

Today we have an exciting expedition to the ancient capital of Amber, where the magnificent Amber Fort awaits. This imposing fortress, perched in the hills near the city, was built in the 16th century during the reign of Raja Man Singh I. To facilitate access to this historical gem, we will enjoy an exhilarating jeep ride* that will take us to its summit. There, in the Diwan-i-Aam, or Hall of Public Audience, we will be amazed by its intricately carved columns. Similarly, the Sheesh Mahal, known as the Palace of Mirrors, will impress us with its walls and ceilings adorned with inlaid mirrors, creating a dazzling spectacle. In the afternoon, we will venture into the Pink City of Jaipur to explore the majestic City Palace. This palatial complex blends various architectural styles and houses an exquisite collection of art and historical artifacts. We will continue our tour at Jantar Mantar, the astronomical observatory built by the Maharaja of Jaipur in 1726. This astronomical marvel continues to amaze us with its precision and predictive capabilities to this day. An undisputed symbol of Jaipur is the famous Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. This palace was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. At that time, it was part of the city palace and served as an extension of the zenana, or women’s quarters, intended for the harem. It is said that its designer, Lal Chand Usta, made the two upper floors slightly narrower to achieve an exquisite pyramidal appearance; what he really intended was to give the majestic building the shape of the crown of the god Krishna. Standing five stories tall, Hawa Mahal isn’t surrounded by gardens, as is typical of Indian palaces, but rather overlooks the main street of the old city, showcasing Rajput art in all its splendor. It’s impossible not to pause before its 953 small, semi-octagonal windows, exquisitely carved from pink and red sandstone inlaid with calcium oxide. These windows were designed so that women could observe, without being seen from the outside, the constant flow of life in the city. The building owes its name to the breeze that circulated through them, a form of cooling that allowed the palace to remain cool even in summer. Hawa Mahal will captivate you with its history and its unparalleled beauty.

Day 05

Day 06

AGRA-DELHI

Today is a truly special day, for an architectural jewel awaits us, one that has captivated the entire world: the Taj Mahal, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This masterpiece of white marble will leave us speechless with its splendor. In the 16th century, Agra became the capital of the Mughal Empire under the reign of Akbar the Great. But it was under the rule of his grandson, Shah Jahan, that the city reached its zenith. The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their fourteenth child. Deeply devastated by her loss, Shah Jahan commissioned this magnificent masterpiece of white marble as a tribute to his eternal love. For more than two decades, thousands of artisans and workers dedicated themselves tirelessly to creating this breathtaking mausoleum. The Taj Mahal is a transcendent testament to the power of love and beauty in the history of humankind. We’ll return to the hotel for breakfast. After a well-deserved and delicious breakfast that will have revitalized us for the rest of the day, our next stop will take us to explore two more historical treasures: the Red Fort and Akbar’s Tomb. The Red Fort, an imposing red sandstone fortress dating back to the 17th century, will immerse us in the history of the Mughal dynasty as we stroll through its majestic courtyards, palaces, and pavilions. From here, we’ll head to the Tomb of Akbar, the Great Mughal Emperor, an architectural tribute to his grandeur and legacy.
